40 MILE WHAT-NOW?

Colleen will run a long-distance race that is longer than a marathon, 14 miles longer to be exact. She is training weekly now for the run to happen on Saturday, May 13th, 2023. We will set a 40 mile course throughout Cleveland and log training miles in an effort to raise money for deserving families seeking out The Village Midwifery care.
Why 40 miles? Because a pregnancy is 40 weeks long (on average). A half-marathon is 13 miles, so this is like three half-marathons, or three trimesters in pregnancy. So naturally this is the number we landed on when determining our goal.

CAN I JOIN HER?

Absolutely! Everyone benefits from a solid support team when they're doing hard things. You can register to run on May 13th, and join along to run any part of the course (1, 5 or all 40 miles!). There is a $40 donation requested to register, and by sharing your training mile log, you can raise money along the way. Register now and log your training miles leading up to Race day!

TELL ME MORE...

Who does this fundraiser benefit?

The Village is committed to serving marginalized communities including people of color, LGBTQ clients, low-income individuals, teen parents and refugees. Accessible midwifery care within the community is the cornerstone of our practice. In order to be accessible, we need your help financially! We want to offer more scholarships for midwifery care and our aim is to support at least 10 incredible families. Help build our Village and reach our goal of $30,000 by May.

IS THERE MERCH?

Heck yeah! Show your support with a Tshirt!

In an effort to reduce waste, we are taking Pre-orders for Tshirts. They will be ready for pickup on Race Day.

THE WHY

Midwives have big hearts, but they are regular people just like you and me. They have bills to pay and their own families to support. They know first-hand the immense value in quality prenatal and birth care. Because insurance does not typically cover these services, many families are unable to afford this care, but we won't let that stop us! With your help, we can reach our goal for the Mother Fund, and support 10 incredible families.
Help build our Village and reach our goal of $30,000 by May 13th!!
